Pouya Ehsaei

Pouya Ehsaei is an Iranian musician, audio-visual artist and performer currently residing in London. Beside his solo sound projects, he is involved in different collaborations with dancers, performers and other musicians. His debut album ‘There’, published by Entr’acte, is an experiment with traditional Iranian music excerpts to create lush soundscapes, harsh expressions and Iranian melodic noises.

He is also the composer, producer, performer and bandleader of “Ariwo”. Ariwo, through improvisation and real-time processing, explores the possibilities of Afro-Cuban rhythms and melodies mixed with electronic percussive noises, hypnotic modular patterns and psychedelic atmospheres.

He has performed at Barbican Centre, Southbank Centre, Village Underground and the Royal Academy of Arts in London as well as several festivals of music and performance including Womad, Line Check, Boomtown and SPILL.
